Join us for one of the largest events in the south of Ireland

Ahoy shipmates! Kaizoku-Con, now in its third year, is Cork’s first and largest convention for Japanese animation, manga, and culture and also welcomes those with interests in science-fiction, fantasy and gaming.

This year’s special guests include: Cherami Leigh, Matthew Mercer and Marisha Ray (check out their profiles in our Special Guests section). We are also delighted to welcome back performance artist Riuchi.

Situated on the beautiful University College Cork campus we have something for everyone, so go check out our previous events, screenings, panels and #GetHyped for what we might have to offer you all next year.

~ Imagine the possibilities ~

While we have some super secret special events coming up next year, we can announce that we will be hosting Ireland’s first Hebocon competition. Over the weekend of the convention we will be running a robot fighting tournament in which contestants pit terribly built robots against one another. That means you get to build a bad robot and come and compete to win the first-ever title of Hebocon Ireland Champion!

~ ‘That’s so awesome!’ we hear you cry ~

We at Kaizoku-Con are also committed to giving back to the community and so we hold a charity auction each year in aid of the LauraLynn House Children’s Hospice in West Cork.

Over the last two years we have had over 1,600 attendees, 4 special guests, around 40 artists & traders, over 60 volunteers, and around 50 panelists. We have spread the love of Japanese and nerd culture, had a lot of fun, made a lot of memories, not to mention raising just under €6,000 for charity.

We encourage you to join the crew and shipmates from the 4th-6th of March 2016 to be a part of this experience.
